Farécla broadens its car care range with the acquisition of Mer Products



 Farécla Products Ltd, worldwide leaders in surface refinishing, are delighted to announce the acquisition of car care specialists Mer Products. The acquisition will complement Farécla’s premium range of car care products which were launched worldwide in 2006.

Mer is an established brand of car valeting products. For more than 20 years they  have been recognised as providing leading car care products, not just for cars but also caravans, boats, trucks, bikes and motor homes.

‘The acquisition of Mer enables the Farécla group to further expand its already strong product range of car valeting products in the automotive aftermarket sector,’ said Jason Payne, Head of Marketing, Farécla Products. ‘Mer is a very sound business that has been sold by the current owners because they are retiring. Over the last 20 years Mer has built up an enviable brand presence in the car care and retail sectors with a complementary range of market leading products.
 

‘Operationally and culturally it is an excellent fit for Farécla and it is a brand that we will continue to develop in its own right,’ added Jason. ‘The acquisition of Mer adds to Farécla’s current distribution of leading premium professional car care products.’

As well as being exhibited at the important shows which have helped make the Mer name so famous country-wide, the Mer range of products will feature prominently at the Silverstone Classic 2009, where Farécla are the sole car care sponsors, and which 60,000 people are expected to attend.

Commenting on the sale of his business, David Flahive, Director, Mer Products, said, ‘We have worked closely with Farécla for a long time, and they, like us, have very strong brands which engender a lot of customer loyalty, leading to consistently high sales levels and many satisfied customers.
